The journal “Food Technology” has been published at the Kuban State Technological University since 1957, 6 numbers a year, an edition of 300 copies.

The founders of the journal are the USSR state Committee for public education.

The journal publishes papers by D.Sc., professors, Cand.Sc, readers, competitors for D.Sc. and Cand.Sc. Degrees from universities and research institutes, postgraduates, workers in the field of initial food processing, food technology, equipment, processes and apparatus, food industry automation.

The journal also publishes scientific papers devoted to innovative scientific engineering developments in the field of biochemistry and microbiology, the development of new kinds of food and their estimation, technical chemical control of production and certification of food products, food ecology and environment protection, food enterprise economics and organization, training, retraining and improving professional skills of food engineers, teaching and training work at universities, etc.

The journal reviews monographs, manuals in the field of food industry, publishes abstracts of doctoral and candidate dissertations on food science and technology defended in the dissertation councils of the Minobrnauka.

In addition the journal advertises new scientific developments, discoveries, inventions made by scientists and professionals working in the field of food industry.

The scientific recognition of the journal has been the result of its almost half a century activity and can be accounted for by the highest qualification of its editorial board that includes academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Academy of Agrarian Sciences and other Academies, honoured workers of science and engineering, honoured inventors of the RF, D. Sc. and professors from all leading industries from Russian food industry.

The journal “Food Technology” is widely known not only in Russia but also in former Soviet republics and abroad. It is subscribed to in a number of foreign countries.

The journal is included into the list of editions recommended by the VAC (Higher Certification Commission) for publishing major findings from theses written by the competitors for the Degrees of D.Sc. and Cand.Sc.

The journal has a certificate of being registered as a mass media edition, it is a periodical and is issued in 6 numbers per year; it is abstracted or indexed in Agris, CA (pt), Ulrichsweb, ProQuest, OCLC.
